KidRated’s Winterville Top Tips:

  • Don’t delay – it’s only open for a month
  • Head to the House of Fairy Tales for the world’s first ‘Make it Market’
  • Don’t worry about rain, the ice rink is outdoors but covered

Winterville is a brand new winter festival this year. Located in Victoria Park, the festival opens on the 2nd December and will close on 31st December. It might not be open for long but during December, Winterville will be packed out with a whole heavenly host of alternative things for kids, adults and the whole family to enjoy.

Entrance is free so it is a great place to go for a Christmassy wander during the afternoon. Or head there around lunchtime and devour some delicious street food. Whether you are in the mood for Italian, Indian, Spanish, Mexican or Peruvian food, you will find it here and many other cuisines too. Chocolate lovers should make a beeline for the Bad Brownie stand in the Food Hall. A bacon and maple syrup brownie? Yes please!

Our top picks for kids here include the workshops at the House of Fairytales and the Robin Hood pantomime. Santa can be visited in his grotto (he does get around this time of year) and on the 23rd kids of all ages, especially from 0-8 years old, can dance the day away at the Kids’ Rave.

If you forget your camera – why not borrow one from the Olympus Wow and Try tent.

Booking advice:
