Spitalfields City Farm

KidRated’s Spitalfields City Farm Top Tips:

  • Wash your hands!
  • Bring your wellies
  • Why not buy some of their great free-range eggs?

Tucked near Brick Lane and the City, Spitalfields City Farm is a delightful urban escape with animals from bees to cows, gardens, a greenhouse, and even a café. Kids aged 4–12 can join the Wild Club on Saturdays, while everyone can enjoy friendly animals, fresh air, and family-friendly fun.

How much does it cost?
There’s no entry fee! Donations welcome though.

is it good for kids and teens?
Absolutely – younger kids will love engaging with the animals as will older kids. We recommend letting teens take friends so they won’t feel surrounded by little ones.

Pigs, donkeys, goats, chickens, and more. Big hit with under-8s.

Is there a play area?
Yes – treehouses and gardens galore.

Yes – daily animal care and seasonal events.

Is it accessible?
Yes, including for wheelchairs and buggies.

Do they have baby-changing facilities?
Yep!

Are picnics allowed?
Absolutely – bring sandwiches and wipes.

Check their site – hours vary.

So so cute! I had no idea that there was a farm like this in London. I love animals so I got a couple friends to come with me on the weekend and we had such a good time. We saw so many adorable animals and had a nice stroll in the gardens. They also had a cafe open so we decided to have some lunch there which was delicious. I’d recommend this to anyone looking to do something different and FREE!

  • This is a lovely little city farm and a visit can be combined with a trip to Brick Lane or Spitalfields Market for shopping, or Columbia Road Flower Market on a Sunday.
  • As well as Wild Club for the kids, they welcome family volunteering on Saturdays so you can learn together.
  • 13-18 year olds can do regular volunteering on Sundays.
  • When the Tea Hut is shut do go to Rinkoff Bakery on Vallance Road as they sell crodoughs (croissant/doughnuts) which
    are sooo good!
