I love chinatown. Great for a day out in central. The food in amazing and I like to try a new place every time I go. They’ve also got great Chinese supermarkets where I get all sorts of new drinks.

Bonus that it’s right by Leicester Square and Covent Garden so I usually go shopping with friends or just hang out in Hyde Park afterwards.

  •  We love the Wong Kei restaurant on Wardour Street during the daytime. Yes, the place has a reputation for rude waiters but they’re not so bad at lunchtime and you can share a plate of noodles.
  • It’s fun to buy sweets or biscuits at the shops on Gerrard Street so set a budget and let the kids choose a treat.
  • The Golden Gate Cake Shop on Macclesfield Street has excellent pork buns which make a cheap lunch.

Combining a trip to Chinatown with a visit to Trafalgar Square and The National Gallery is a no-brainer as they’re right next to each other. For a sweet treat, stop for a fish-shaped ice cream cone at Tsujiri or try a delicious bubble tea at May’s Sweet Bite
