BFI IMAX

KidRated’s BFI IMAX Top Tips:

  • Best for kids & teens: The BFI IMAX is THE place to watch the big blockbusters.
  • Best for parents: comfy seats and ample leg room.
  • Top tip: Don’t sit at the front – sitting nearer the back will give you a more immersive experience.

Welcome to the BFI IMAX – where movies come to life in gigantic proportions, and boredom takes a back seat! Nestled in the heart of Waterloo, this iconic cinema is not just your average movie night destination – it’s a cinematic adventure of epic proportions!

Picture this: You stroll into the BFI IMAX, and what greets you? A colossal screen that stretches to infinity (well, almost!), engulfing you in a visual feast that’s larger than life itself. It’s like stepping into the heart of the action, with every explosion, chase scene, and dramatic moment unfolding right before your eyes.

But here’s the best part: it’s not just about the size of the screen – it’s about the experience. From heart-pounding blockbusters to awe-inspiring documentaries, there’s something for every movie buff and their entourage of eager teens and kids. Plus, with state-of-the-art sound systems that’ll make you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action, it’s a sensory extravaganza that’ll leave you on the edge of your seat.

And parents, don’t worry about dragging your brood to a stuffy old cinema – the BFI IMAX is all about family fun! With comfy seats, ample legroom, and a concession stand that’ll satisfy even the pickiest of snackers, it’s the perfect spot for a movie night that’ll have the whole gang cheering for more.

If you’ve got a film you’re looking forward to, IMAX is the place to see it. Honestly can’t go wrong with this one. Great for teenagers, kids and adults. I’ve seen so many films here with the fam and we always have a good time. Best to sit at the back if you don’t want to be cricking your neck. plus you get the best experience that way. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Remember there is only one screen so you won’t have a choice of films on at the same time.
  • As well as feature films there are films that are under 1 hour which can be a good introduction to the huge screen.
  • Best seats are halfway back and in the middle.
  • It can be loud for younger viewers so don’t sit near the sides.
