See some of London’s greatest sights when you ride in a cable car across one of the widest points of the Thames. Departing from southern Greenwich or the northern Royal Docks, the Emirates Air Line offers an alternative way to travel across the Thames. The car travels at 90m high, giving you a glimpse of the O2 Arena and beyond. And the best part is that no booking is required, all you need to do is to tap in your Oyster Card to board the Emirates Air Line Greenwich.
Add a bit of pizazz to the visit or use as a cheeky date night by booking a whole car and having champagne atop the London skyline!
If you want to explore the other side of the river, you can hop off at your opposite departure station. Greenwich has plenty of tourist attractions and the Royal Docks also houses must-sees such as the Museum of London Docklands or the Thames Barrier Park.
Chose to do this on a sunny day with a friend of mine and did not regret it! It’s a little bit out of the way so make sure to plan you’re day around it. It was super easy to hop on with an oyster card and there were such great views from the car. Great little experience in London that not many tend to think of. We made sure to start on the side of the river that didn’t have much going on so that when we got to the other side, we could explore the area and have lunch.

We visited on a sunny day, and would definitely recommend. Don’t forget your camera for the great views.
