About Canalway Cavalcade
Updated May 2026: “There are loads of things for kids to do. It’s really awesome – 10/10” – Elliot, aged 12
If you fancy something a bit different over the bank holiday, IWA Canalway Cavalcade in Little Venice is a proper little winner. Over 100 boats rock up and turn the place into a floating knees-up – bunting everywhere, bright colours, the lot. Old-school narrowboats, lived-in barges, all showing off like they’re on parade.
You’ve also got live music, street food, a cheeky ale bar, children’s play area and entertainers and stalls selling all sorts. Kids sorted, grown-ups sorted. Best bit? Sunday night – lit-up boat parade. Looks like Christmas… but on water… in May. Mad, but it works.
KidRated Top Tip:
Go early! The morning is calmer, the boats are freshly spruced up, and you’ll beat the crowds (and queues).
