MBNA Thames Clippers

KidRated’s Thames Clippers Top Tips:

  • Take advantage of the hop on and hop off aspect of your ticket!
  • Try and spot as many London attractions as you can.
  • Not for those who get seasick.

Whether you’re on deck or in the cabin, MBNA Thames Clippers provides great views for all! It is the fastest, most frequent river bus on the Thames and transports both commuters and tourists every day. Routes vary, so you can personalise your trip according to which sights interest you, from Putney all the way east to Royal Arsenal.

Boats are spacious and comfortable, so don’t worry about being nudged overboard. Kick back and relax whilst enjoying London’s stunning scenery from a different perspective to on land. Trips are extremely flexible: River Roamer and Family Roamer tickets give you unlimited travel, meaning you can hop off at piers along the route if you see a sight you want a closer look at. From commuting to sightseeing, MBNA Thames Clippers are the perfect way to get a breath of fresh air, relax, and appreciate the Southbank’s scenery all at the same time.

 Booking Advice:

Teen Verdict

Family days out, attractions and things to do in London and beyond for kids, older kids and teenagers rated by kids and teens with KidRated

I had a friend visiting from outside London so we actually decided it would be really cool to incorporate the Thames Clipper into our day. I wanted to show my friend around London is the most London way I could think of. The clipper was such a good choice. We loved the hop-on, hop-off aspect of it so we could plan our day personally for us. It was also super convenient because it turned out you could use your oyster card – amazing! I’d recommend this for someone who wants an epic day out or even to spice up your daily commute!

  • It’s great fun when the boat goes faster between Tower Bridge and Greenwich.
  • Can be chilly outside but always warm inside and the seats are comfy.
  • Great photo opportunity as you go under Tower Bridge – you’ll hear iPad and camera cases open as it comes into view as everyone wants that pic!
  • Under 5s go free and kids can get 50% off with a Zip
    Oyster card.
