Ever dreamed of being in a band with your kids where no one argues about screen time or socks on the floor? Welcome to WeJam, Camden’s best-kept musical secret. Hidden behind a guitar shop (very rock’n’roll), this immersive studio experience lets you and your kids (age 8+) become instant popstars. No talent? No problem. Thanks to some very clever tech, you’ll sound great even if you’ve never touched an instrument in your life.
Each 90-minute session is run by a real-life ‘record producer’ who’ll guide your mini band through rehearsals and a full-blown performance. You even get a recording to keep – proof that you once nailed a Bruno Mars chorus in harmony.
It’s perfect for birthdays, rainy weekends, or just unleashing your inner rock god without leaving London.
What age is it best for?
Best for kids 8+, teens who think they’re too cool for family time. Under 18s will need a grown up present, so why not realise those musical ambitions?
Are there real instruments & do I need to be able to play?
For complete beginners there are keytars, drums, keyboards – the full rockstar kit. But don’t panic if you’ve never touched an instrument in your life. They’re all connected to smart software that helps you stay in tune, on beat, and sounding brilliant. You’ll be playing for real, but with a little tech magic to make sure you don’t sound like a cat falling on a piano. Experienced players can also pick up the bass or electric guitar.
Do we get to choose the songs?
Yes. You can select from a wide range of songs from the 60s to current day. Choose one to match your family’s vibe.
How long does a WeJam session last?
Sessions are around 90 minutes – just enough time to become a household name (in your household).
How many songs will we play?
Depending on your group’s pace and preferences, you’ll play around 9 or 10 songs during your session.
Do we get a recording?
Absolutely. Your performance is recorded so you can relive the glory… or use it as blackmail later.
What if I can actually play an instrument?
Awesome! If you’ve got some skills, bring ’em. The system can be dialled up or down depending on your experience, so confident players can shred, solo or show off while beginners get a helping hand. It means everyone plays together, sounds good, and has a laugh, whether you’re Grade 8 guitar or just here for the vibe.
How many people can join a session?
WeJam sessions are designed for groups of up to 6 people playing instruments simultaneously. There’s also room for a couple of extra participants who are happy to sing along. For private bookings, they can accommodate up to 8 people all playing simultaneously
Do we need to book?
Yes please – they’re popular, and you’ll want your spot in the spotlight.
Is it accessible?
Sadly, it’s down some stairs, so not wheelchair or buggy-friendly.
Can we book it for a party?
Totally! They do private bookings for up to 8 wannabe superstars.
