BBQ on a boat? In London? Oh yes – welcome to Skuna Boats!
Get ready to cruise London’s Docklands while flipping burgers on a floating BBQ, because Skuna Boats have created one of the capital’s most fun (and brilliantly bonkers) days out.
These self-drive electric boats come with a gas BBQ built into the centre, so you can cook your feast while steering past Canary Wharf’s skyscrapers. No licence or boating experience needed, just bring your appetite and your best grill-master energy.
Perfect for families, birthday parties or just an excuse to get out of the house and do something completely different. So what are you waiting for? Click here to book and experience a Skuna Boat today.
FAQs
Do I need a boating licence?
Nope. You’ll get a full safety briefing before you set sail.
Can we bring our own food and drink?
Yes. Bring your own BBQ treats to make sure everyone gets what they want. Or you can pre-order a pack from Skuna.
Are life jackets provided for kids?
Absolutely. All sizes are available and must be worn by children.
Is there a toilet on board?
No toilets on a Skuna Boat, but there are loos at the dock. Just swing back mid-trip if someone’s caught short.
What if it rains?
Each boat has a big umbrella for drizzle. Or steer under a bridge. Just dress sensibly, this is still the UK.
Can we play music?
Yes. Each Skuna Boat has a waterproof Bluetooth speaker – bring your best playlist and vibe out.
Is it safe for young kids?
Yes, boats are slow and steady. Kids must be supervised and wear life jackets at all times.
Can we book more than one boat for a party?
Definitely. Skuna can handle up to 100 people across ten boats. Perfect for birthdays, big groups, or just showing off.
How far can we go on a Skuna boat? You won’t be setting sail for the high seas, but you will enjoy a scenic circular route around London’s Docklands, right in the heart of Canary Wharf. You can’t venture onto the Thames (no tidal waves with your sausages, sorry).
Are you likely to get wet? Not really, but don’t wear suede. The Skuna Boats are stable, slow-moving, and designed for comfort, not thrills. You’re not splashing through rapids, you’re gliding through calm docklands at a gentle pace.
What should we wear? Layers, trainers, and something you don’t mind smelling a bit like BBQ smoke.
Oh – and maybe a waterproof jacket if the forecast looks dodgy.
Can teens go without an adult?
Nope. Anyone under 18 needs a grown-up on board. BBQs + boats = rules.
