About Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park is a thrill-filled day out packed with rollercoasters, water rides and high-energy fun—perfect for teens, tweens and brave grown-ups. With big-name rides, gentler options for younger kids and loads of splashy chaos, it’s noisy, exciting and guaranteed to wear everyone out. Snacks and waterproofs recommended!
Top tip from the KidRated team:
Arrive early, download the Thorpe Park app for queue times, and head straight for the big rides first (before the queues do). And don’t say we didn’t warn you: Tidal Wave = SOAKED.
Quick Inspiration
It’s best for tweens, teens and thrill-loving adults, roughly age 8+. Younger kids can enjoy a handful of gentler rides, but the big coasters have strict height limits (1.3m+). So check before you go.
Not loads, but enough to fill a morning. Think Flying Fish, bumper cars, the amphibious Depth Charge, and plenty of space to run about. If your little one isn’t tall enough for the big rides, it might not be a full-day destination, unless they’re tagging along with older siblings.
Easy: the rollercoasters. Stealth (0–80mph in 2 seconds), Hyperia, Colossus, The Swarm, and Nemesis Inferno are massive hits with teens and brave adults alike. They’ll come off buzzing (and maybe slightly green).
Yes, it’s called Fastrack, and it lets you skip the standard queues. It’s not cheap, but if you’re going on a busy weekend or school holiday, it can seriously boost how many rides you get on. Worth it for coaster fans.
Weekdays during term time are quietest. If that’s not possible, arrive at opening time, download the app for live queue updates, and head to the biggest rides first. Pack patience during peak summer!
Yes, there’s a detailed Accessibility Guide on their site, and staff are helpful. Some rides may have restrictions, but there are wheelchair-accessible routes, toilets, and car parking. Ride Access Passes are also available.
Yes, and you should. Food inside can be pricey, and if you’re with fussy eaters, packed lunches are a win. There are picnic spots around the park.
Oh yes, and they’re wild. Tidal Wave will soak you head to toe, Storm Surge is a spinning log-flume-style madness, and Depth Charge is a slide-based splash fest. Bring a change of clothes… or embrace the sogginess.
Mostly outdoors, yes, but the fun continues in drizzle or downpour. Just bring waterproofs and don’t expect your hair to stay nice. Some rides may pause if it’s stormy or really heavy rain.
Absolutely. There are quieter areas to sit, watch the action and enjoy the atmosphere. Plus the staff are helpful, and it’s a brilliant day for making memories (with or without loops and drops!).

Half term craziness ruined this for us quite a lot, rides were great but the 90 minute queues took the fun out of it for us, 10/10 for the rides we got to go on - 0/10 for the queues and overcrowding- in future we’ll go on an inset day!!!
