About Lee Valley VeloPark
Lee Valley VeloPark is a brilliant spot for biking families, with tracks and trails for all ages and abilities. From toddler balance bikes to BMX thrills and velodrome laps for 12+, it’s Olympic-level fun in East London. Great for active days out, birthday parties and holiday adventures.
New: Learn to Cycle at Lee Valley VeloPark
The VeloPark has launched a fantastic new Learn to Cycle programme to get kids pedalling with confidence. Aimed at children aged 2 to 12, this fun, structured pathway helps young riders go from balance bikes to BMX heroes. Whether your child’s taking their first spin or fine-tuning race skills, there’s a level for everyone:
- Foundation (18 months+) – Balance, gliding, and first pedals.
- Development (6+) – Choose BMX, MTB, road, or track and learn cornering, jumping, and group riding.
- Academy (10+) – For budding racers with advanced coaching and competition prep.
Run by Better (GLL) with support from the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, it’s all about keeping the Olympic legacy alive — inspiring every child to ride, learn, and love cycling.

Not necessarily. The VeloPark offers bike and helmet rentals for most activities. However, you’re welcome to bring your own equipment if it meets safety standards.
From VeloBalance to introductory track cycling sessions, there are plenty of options for those new to cycling.
Yes – booking ahead is strongly recommended, especially during weekends, school holidays, and for coached sessions (like BMX tasters or track cycling).
It depends on the activity, but think sporty and comfy. Wear clothes you can move in, so leggings, joggers, trainers. Track cycling, BMX or mountain biking? Long sleeves and long trousers are required. Helmets and gear are provided, but feel free to bring your own if it meets their standards.
Not quite. The Velodrome is inside (the big swooshy Olympic one). The BMX track, mountain biking trails, and road circuit are outside. So pack accordingly. Sunshine = sun cream. Clouds = layers. Rain = waterproofs.
Yes, there’s a café offering a range of snacks and drinks to ensure everyone’s energised.
Yes, it’s committed to being inclusive. There are a variety of inclusive cycling sessions using specially adapted bikes – trikes, tandems, handcycles, and more. Whether your child has additional needs or you’re looking for a supported family activity, there are options to suit.
The venue is step-free, with accessible toilets, parking, and changing facilities. The staff are brilliant; friendly, trained, and happy to offer support if needed.
