Top Tip from the KidRated Team:
Thinking of trying Rambert? Start with a drop-in class to see if your child loves it before booking a full term. And don’t worry if they’re total beginners, the teachers are brilliant at helping even the shyest kids find their groove.
Pro tip: classes book up fast, especially for younger age groups, so get in early!

Feel This Free – 20 September, 1pm – 4pm
Rambert is throwing a FREE street party right outside of it’s building on Upper Ground.
And you’re invited.
Free for all the community. Bring the whole family – dance with Rambert artists, try hula hooping, make your own badges, get your face painted, and feel this free.
You can choose either a drop-in dance class or a 12-week term booking. If you join partway through a term, you’ll only pay for the remaining sessions—perfect if you want to try before committing.
Not at all. Rambert’s children’s dance classes are open to complete beginners as well as confident young dancers. Classes are designed to build skills at your child’s pace in a fun, supportive environment.
Rambert offers a creative mix of contemporary dance, creative movement, and beginner-friendly ballet. For younger kids aged 2–3, the Dance and Play sessions focus on imaginative, parent-supported movement.
Keep it simple and comfy – leggings, t-shirts, or leotards work well. Children can dance barefoot or in soft-soled shoes (avoid dark soles). Hair should be tied back, jewellery removed, and no slippery lotions or creams on the skin.
Class lengths vary depending on your child’s age and the session booked, but are generally 45 – 60 minutes.
Rambert runs Saturday morning classes for children aged 2 to 11. Younger children enjoy “Dance and Play” sessions, while older kids join age-appropriate contemporary and creative dance workshops.
You can book online, over the phone or in person. Drop-in bookings open six days in advance. Sign up for the Rambert newsletter or Rambert Plus for updates, new classes, and early-bird offers.
