About Shrek’s Adventure

Shrek’s Adventure! London is what happens when a fairy tale goes off the rails – in the most gloriously bonkers way. Kids step into the world of Far Far Away, where they’ll meet live actors, dodge dragons, get blasted by swamp gas (yes, really), and ride a 4D magical bus driven by Donkey himself. Expect belly laughs, silly surprises and panto-style storytelling – all indoors on London’s buzzing South Bank. Best for kids aged 4–12, but grown-ups and older siblings will secretly enjoy the chaos too. Great for birthdays, school holiday silliness, or just a rainy day rescue. But be warned – this place is popular, so book ahead or risk disappointing your little ogres.

Top tip from the KidRated Team:

Book a combo Merlin ticket. You can bundle Shrek’s Adventure with SEA LIFE, the London Eye or even the London Dungeon. It saves money and turns one fun outing into a full-blown family adventure along the South Bank.

Is Shrek’s Adventure good for young kids?

It’s perfect for kids aged 4–12. Some parts might be loud or dark, so it’s less ideal for toddlers.

How long does it take?

Around 75 minutes – just the right length for mini attention spans.

Is it scary?

It’s more silly than scary, though younger or sensitive kids might find a few scenes a bit intense.

Can I take photos inside?

Not during the show, but there’s a fun themed area at the end for pics with loads of characters from Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar and more. Posing with Donkey? Non-negotiable.

Is it accessible for wheelchairs or buggies?

Wheelchair users are welcome, but accessible slots are limited – book in advance. Buggies need to be left in a buggy park.

Do we need to book?

Yes – tickets often sell out, especially during holidays and weekends.

Is there food or a café on-site?

No café inside, but the South Bank is packed with food stalls, restaurants and sweet treats just outside.

Is it fun for grandparents?

Only if they’re game for a bit of fairy tale mayhem – it’s loud, lively and seating is limited.

What else is nearby?

Tons! The London Eye, SEA LIFE, Jubilee Gardens, Southbank Centre and London Dungeon are all a short walk away.
