CJ and Levi, aged 11 and 9 We went to VR extra in Kingston. It’s a virtual reality gaming centre, where you can play lots of different games and escape rooms. We played for one hour and I think that was about the right amount of time. I liked how much we could move about as much as we needed to and we could hear each other talking really easily. The staff really cooperated with us - like, if I said it's too blurry, they helped explain it really simply and put it right. The game we played was called survival and we really enjoyed the environment. It was set on a remote desert island and it was quite realistic. The games and tasks we had to play within it were challenging but really good for the ages 11 and nine. We will definitely recommend it. It’s a great way to spend an hour on a rainy day during the holidays or at weekends.

Definitely. Most glasses fit comfortably under the headsets, so you won’t miss a single pixel.

Yes! You’ll get a demo before jumping in, and the lovely staff are always around to help you with controls or headset faffery.
Walk-ins are fine if it’s quiet, but it gets busy at weekends and during holidays, so booking online is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.
Comfortable clothes and flat shoes are best. Avoid big hats or dangly earrings – the headsets don’t like fashion statements.
Nope! Everyone has their own designated space. Even in multiplayer games, your movements are tracked individually so it’s all safe and flail-free.
Not if they’re under 16 – an adult needs to stay on-site. That said, there’s a comfy viewing area, so you can chill and watch the action unfold on screens.
Yes, and they’re epic. Packages include game time, food options from Curzon Pizzeria (hello, pizza + popcorn combo), and a party host. Just bring a cake and your best birthday playlist.

Ruth (Mum) This game is very stimulating, so you might feel quite tired and need a bit of a rest after you play it, I wouldn’t recommend doing anything really important or stimulating afterwards. It's located in the Bentalls centre so it's really easy to get to and park if needed.
