Get Technical!…with Moulin Rouge the Musical
Meet the crew and discover how the magic really happens behind the scenes of Moulin Rouge – The Musical with Get Technical!
If you’ve an older kid or teenager who loves theatre, music, fashion and live events – or is thinking about a career in that field, then Moulin Rouge’s Get Technical! is for them.
Created by the team behind the award-winning musical at the Piccadilly Theatre, Get Technical! is an inspiring afternoon, where young people get a rare chance to step behind the curtain and discover what it actually takes to put on one of the West End’s biggest and most spectacular shows.
Takling place several times a year, this event is all about the backstage heroes who make the magic happen and ensure the production runs like clockwork every single night. So kids will meet and hear from the sound designers, wig makers, wardrobe teams, stage managers, lighting experts and technical crews.
Plus there are live demonstrations, behind-the-scenes secrets, career advice and plenty of “how did they do that?!” moments too.

It’s particularly brilliant for creative teenagers who may not want to be on stage but are fascinated by how it all works. And for parents and grandparents, it’s also a genuinely useful reminder that the arts industry offers loads of exciting careers for kids beyond acting.
The next Get Technical! event is currently scheduled for July 2026 and they fill up fast, so keep an eye on the official Moulin Rouge! The Musical UK website for updates and new announcements.
Tickets are deliberately kept affordable, with £5 concessions for anyone in full-time education or receiving government benefits.
