Celebrity Best Days Out – Lisa Moorish
Lisa Moorish isn’t just a musician – she’s a bona fide 90s cultural icon. From Britpop circles to club classics, she’s been a fixture of London’s creative heartbeat, later adding acting, writing, DJing and now feature-film and documentary producing to her impressive CV.Loud and proud – she’s also a massive advocate for dignity, equality and social mobility.
Her childhood was shaped by some iconic London landmarks, and today she still loves a good old mooch around the capital with her grown-up kids – Molly & Astile.
Warm, outspoken and endlessly creative, it was great to catch up with her to discover her Celebrity Best Days Out.

Tell us what you’re up to?
I’m currently feature film and documentary producing. Something I’ve been working on for the past three years. A new venture, after years of acting, script writing and dabbling in production. Also still making music and DJing!
What were your favourite place to visit in London as a kid and why?
London Zoo was a place of pure joy, adventure and comfort as a toddler into my later years. Although I don’t like the idea of caged animals these days, it was a beautiful day out with my mum, dad and family many moons ago. My first camel ride aged two!
Another was the highly controversial British Museum. Full of beautiful stolen artefacts and ancient history. I tend to boycott institutions like this these days though.
Last but not least is Hyde Park. So many happy memories of my dad taking me to swim there, ride the boats and play football. 70s Hyde park was lit.

Where is your favourite place to eat with the family?
A Chinese boat restaurant on the Regent’s Park canal – Feng Shang Princess. We’ve celebrated many birthdays there, since I was around 7 years old.
Where in London (or the UK) would you recommend to another family?
I love the London Aquarium. For a family, it’s the best day out with it being right by Westminster for a bridge walk before or after.
And the Tate Modern as one of my favourite hangs is The Southbank.

What would be your perfect day out with your family?
They are adults now. But as a family who loves our food…a trip to Chinatown for our beloved chinese restaurant get together; the cinema, or a drive out of London on a random last minute adventure.

Bus, tube, taxi, walk or cycle?
I tend to walk, cycle, tube and bus it these days.

**Like Lisa we love a tube ride as well – so check out our guide How to Travel on the London Underground with Kids, Teens and Babies for lots of tips and advice….
